Mellow greetings and salutations.
Gosh darn, here we are sitting
in Zimbabwe and that's 'cause this
is where we live. Everything is
hunky dory and we've just had a
skate. We're actually in Harare,
which is the capital of our behind
country, which is run by old Bob
(CDE Robert Gabriel Mugabe).
Yeah, so skating in our hometown,
Bulawayo, is a bit pooey, but in
Harare the skating is mellow and
the skaters are hard. In the whole
of Zimbo there's twelve skaters,
and two of us (who are writing)
live in Bulawayo. Here's a little
speechy weech about our skaters:
Bruno: Another one of those not
uncommon spaced-out dudes who
takes the world as it comes, the
same for skating except that he's
good. Experience
counts like a
Chinese abacus, I
like Chinese 'cause
of their dark hair.
Bruno was bem,
He's Brazilian.
Timothy: Jamming
on his board gives
life. Unintentional
falls are not his
fault 'cause he
always means to
land his tricks (and)
most often does), sometimes
things just seem to happen that
way, so there! He's also good at
living since he's done it for more
than sixteen years to date.
James: James skates, he likes it.
I think his brother's cyco.
Bruce & lan:
Bruce is the bad-
dest. So is lan
They're hard.
Best skaters I've seen since forev
er. lan goes big and Bruce has cool
hair 'cause that's how it grew.
Benji: 'Nuff said.
Paul: Paul quit (skating).
Rick: Rick can skate also. Rick likes
Nirvana. Rick can do tricks. Rick
eats. Rick Rick Ricky Rick.
Andre: Steady progress is at hand
and Andre Andre he's our man.
Skating is inside his blood, like
shit to a plug-
No one is sponsored here 'cause
there are no sponsors. Skate spots
in general (ie: sidewalks, curbs and
the like) are barely satisfactory and
we could do with a skatepark or
seventeen. Don't come to Zimbab
we, just stay where you are and
keep on a-skating, 'cause skaters
