Girls Who Skate
It's about time to
break that messed up stereotype that only guys skate and the girls that do
aren't any good. I am a girl skater and I'm pretty good, not to brag or anything.
Though I hang out mostly with guys, I do skate with a couple girls. I love to
skate. It gives me this major rush. I guess I'm addicted. I started skating
when other girls were still playing Barbie.

CONSTANTLY RIDING
I'm sixteen and I've been skating
for three years, off and on. The tricks I
can pull are varials, frontside shove
its, ollie off of four stairs, nosestalls,
noseslides, and I can almost do heel-
flips, kickflips and every once in a
while, a pressure flip or an ollie up
two stairs. I skate from 9:00 am till
about 11:00 pm with a four hour
break in the middle for my gymnas

TRUE LIFE
I was just kicking
back at a local cof-
fee shop in down-
town San Jose with
a few friends when
these total dick
head skater guys,
who thought they
invented the fuck-
ing sport, get it in
their minuscule little minds that they
were going to fuck with me because
after all, I'm a girl! They were asking
me all these questions about my
board and if they could ride it and shit
like, "Do you skate vertical or pools?
Then they asked me if I was pro. It
made me feel really good! But then
there's the other aspect of it, where
they thought I was some skate whore/
poser who got her skate for my sweet
sixteen as a way to get guys. But as
soon as I answered all their fuckface
questions and they saw me make a
totally down kickflip, they decided to
cut on me! What asses! One said he
was pro. I don't think so! But I did
enjoy the extra attention. Plus,
it was a major compliment for
them to think I was sponsored.
Then again, it was probably a
line, but it worked!

TO THE BOYS
I just want to say a few things
to the assholes out there who
think girls can't skate. They all
rag about us only because they
are both intimidated and afraid
that we could beat their asses.
They should just shut the fuck
up and get a life. The stereo-
type that skateboarding is only
for guys is bullshit. Girl skaters
deserve the same rights as guy
skaters, like getting sponsored.
All the skate companies should
sponsor girl skaters. Thrasher
Mag should encourage girl
skaters, not as sex objects or
toys, but as skillful and able-
bodied skaters. Thanks for
hearing me out. I hope every-
one learns the truth.

ing? You must think about how
fun it is, so get off your panty-
huggin', Barbie-lovin' ass and
