HELPFUL TIPS FOR GETTING AIR
1. Respect all people, including ski patrol. With all the
hostility on the slopes, try and stay cool.
2. Be in control of your speed at all times. When the slopes
are crowded, accidents are bound to happen. So if you are
in control, you may be able to avoid that clueless idiot who
wanders into your path.
3. Obey all posted signs and stay in the boundary lines.
Ignoring the rules can result in the loss of your lift ticket
and in some states it can result in even more trouble.
4. Many people think leashes are a pain, but they not only
can prevent a loose board from hitting someone, they can
also save you from having to chase your board down the
mountain. They make great carrying straps, and plus,
most resorts won't let you on the lifts without them.
5. Some resorts don't allow big air jumps because a few
skiers have been flattened, so remember to make sure you
know the rules. If you go to a resort that allows big air
jumps, remember to have a pal spot you or make sure you
know who or what you are going to land on.
6. Don't stop under lifts, it is amazing how those darn skis
escape from their owners. One of those could give you a
headache, plus some people have the habit of spitting.
7. All these tips help, but mainly the key to being success-
ful is to use common sense.
