            NOTES
normous
Good examples are hard to find in a
world where most people would rather
sit around and bitch about their scene
than get up off their lazy asses and do
something about it. So in order to show
all the armchair stage divers how easy
it is to throw a party with your friends,
we got together a few ripping bands
at one of our favorite clubs and held
a Skate Rock showcase and bar-
beque hoedown. On Sunday, July
10th, 1994, Thrasher Magazine and the Bottom of the Hill in San
Francisco launched a rambunctious shindig for kids of all ages.
Clockwise from top: Rancid let loose
with a high-powered session of
indomitable outbursts from their
classic new album called Let's Go
All the cool vibes and crankin
tunes caused some to go out of
their heads. Who ever heard of a
punk gig without at least a couple
of middle fingers? The action in the
slam pit was rowdy, friendly and
fun. SF Ocean Beach
locals The Mermen
unleashed a juicy set
of cylindrical sounds
from their psychedel
ic surf CD Food For
Other Fish. A pow
erful three-piece,
Walrus shredded a
slew of songs off
their melodically
hard Sex & Gristle
cassette. See y'all
next time.
