So many bands that have million
dollar record contracts suck, it's
about time we give some credit to
the worthy underdogs... The name
Hot Rod Shopping Cart evokes
pictures of parking lot mayhem that
are not too far from the anarchic
spirit of the band that flies like
Rodan. Soapbox derby daredevil
and former Faction singer Russell
Wright is the head of the band. The
wings are formed by guitar player
Captain Trip Mender from Tales
of Terror and bassist Dave Chavez
from Sick Pleasure, Code of Honor
and Verbal Abuse. Taking up the
rear, drummer Jay Morrass is the
butt of the band, Chavez says, "He
holds the bottom end down." A
Mopar-blown supermarket basket
with wheels, the Rod
puts the pedal to the
metal for your love.
"Nothing too serious
or too intellectual for
anybody to dwell on,"
explains Chavez. "You
don't have to listen to
the lyrics, because the
music rocks"... A tight
quartet of hard rockin'
renegades, Cold Cock
Trio hits you upside
the head with a thick
psychedelic sound. Guitarist Bucky
Pope (ex-Tar Babies) and keyman
Gluehead are both hardcore rollers
who will skate till death. Says Bucky,
"I just like to go as fast as I can and
hit the edge of the ramp". Randy
Turner (aka Biscuit from The
Big Boys) is back to his old
tricks with a band called In
the Hall of the Swine King
Biscuit's potent yodel and
freaky caricatures unite with
expansive slide guitars, ani-
mal noises, wigs and vocal
squealings on an exotic cas-
sette odyssey called Squeal

telescope, that person would see
what was going on ten years ago.
Thus, if we could go ten times the
very crystal speed of light, as Thee
Hypnotics do on this CD, we could
see what was going on ten years
