So much has happened this week-
end that I couldn't put it all in this
magazine. This was the most fun trip I
ever had and it has changed my ideas
of what is possible, both on board and
off. I wish everyone could feel the way
I feel right now. I'm so fired up, I want
to skate forever and never get old.
Everyone should visit SF and skate
their brains out, I'd also like to take
this opportunity to let people know
that Austin is considering a skatepark
and invite everyone to come skate
with us. There are a lot of skaters
here and the scene is good. Come to
Texas and we'll treat you right.
-Cary Jackson
It was a driving rain, but
the crew managed to find
some dry asphalt South of
Market. Bryan (top) rides
hard. Above the Fort
Mason curbs, a statue of
Phillip Burton (above)
stops traffic for Cary. A
supreme skarf session
(left) took place at the
screening of Sponsor Me!
Production Manager Kat
O'Loughlin (bottom)
shows Team All how "The
Bible" gets assembled.
GETTIN' SCHOOLED THINGS I LEARNED IN SF:
IN SAN FRANCISCO
THINGS THAT RULED:
•Palo Alto
Seeing Jim Thiebaud read
poetry at the Deluxe
Store with Tommy
Guerrero on bass
•Downhilling at night
Andy's ramp
• Eric Jay
Jake's ramp
THINGS THAT SUCKED:
How we skated Palo Alto
Missing Jim Thiebaud and
Tommy Guerrero's
Mother's Day jam
Wiping out in the projects
Leaving my camera, hat
and food at Andy's ramp
• Eric Jay's not sponsored
•The fact the government's
tearing Jake's ramp down
Don't skate the Broadway
tunnel unless you have the
tools to tighten your
mounting bolts afterwards
John Cardiel doesn't need
to wear pads
Jim Thiebaud denies the
existence of Fort Miley
and the Hilltop Dish
Kevin Thatcher has zip up
sweaters like Mr Rogers
Jake Phelps can do nose
grind edgers (nedgers)
Everything seemed slow
after SF
