E: Yeah, plenty to where I'm scared to take jumps
right now because I wrecked real bad.
Tell us about a good one.
E: I don't know if it makes a good story. I went to
take a jump that looked really small and I pan-
icked right at the last minute and just went flying.
I did a flip and landed on my ass. Hey, I was
snowboarding with Mark Arm from Mudhoney.
But I told him to go on because I was going to
lay there for about an hour. Big ol' bruise on my
ass. I'm still recovering from it. My bowling game
went straight down the shitter because of it.
That's got to hurt.
E: Yeah, that hurt to see all my friends bowling
better than me.
What's a perfect girl like for you?
DB: Money.
DE: We all like big asses too, I guess you should
put that in there.
R: I like girls to live out of town. They totally turn
me on when they're out of town.
DB: Ron actually likes to work out of the country.
R: I work overseas. Texas, that's a different coun-
try, I work there too. I just got a postcard from a
girl in Texas. She's going to meet me in New
Orleans. Line them up everywhere except your
hometown, then they're trouble.
Is that one of the reasons why you guys tour?
DB: For chicks?
Yeah.
E: No, we tour because we rock so hard, we have
to go and show everybody. Plus, the guys out
there are giving us free pot when we're touring.
It costs us money when we're at home, but on
the road, it's usually free. It's the beauty of the
generous nature of the rock and roll scene.
DE: Most of the vices become free on the road.
E: Yeah, the beer is free, the marijuana is free.
I heard you guys get some pretty good green-
ery up there in Washington, though.

S: Yeah, that is a fact. The best. It's quite amaz-
ing. When we first moved up here, we all smoked
pot in Arizona and stuff, but we first came up to
town and someone got us high, and the next
thing I know, we're all sitting around in the living
room staring at each other, thinking we're on
acid or something because the pot is just not at
all the same.
R: Like the weather, though, you acclimate to
good pot, so after you smoke it a while, you
become accustomed to the acid-like feel. In fact,
looking forward to it.
Maybe that's why there's so many good bands
coming out of Seattle, because you guys got
pot.
E: That's a good theory. I don't think anyone's
touched on that theory yet."

your people?
E: Don't forget to wear clean underwear because
you're going to get the pants rocked off of ya.
