on the way
out the door.
If you're ever anywhere near Washing.
ton, make it a point to go to 14th Street
and Pennsylvania Avenue NW. You will not
be disappointed. The entire park is mar-
ble, with steps, ledges and mellow atti.
tudes like nowhere else. I guarantee a
good time for those who visit. March
through June and August through
October are the best times of the year, not
too hot, not too cold, although you will
most likely find people skating any day
of any month, as long as it's not raining.
Props to Sean Sheffey, Scott Johnston,
Pepe Martinez, Chris Hall, Steve Teagues,
Brian Tucci, Eben Jahnke, Randy Bobbitt,
Dan Supko, Jim Gordy, Carlos Kenner,
It's cool seeing the progression
of local skateboarders, from just
pushing around, to carrying
Bud, Randy Corey, Wayne Cox, Hojin
Chang, the Willigan brothers, Brian
Connelly, Dave Schubert and especially
Johnny at Fairfax Surf Shop for keeping
everyone good to go and ready to ride.
The spots are fresh and with the right
guide, Washington DC holds enough vari-
ety to stoke even the pickiest of skaters.
After hours, the nightlife is that of any
large metropolitan area. Whether it be
shooting pool, going to clubs or just hang
ing out and skating, there's never a dull
moment in this town. But don't take my
people's models on the shelves. word for it, get off your ass and decide for
John Esser
yourself. Peace, I'm out.
