Back in 1992 a young high school student in Salinas, California, became interested in playing a
musical instrument. He chose the stand-up bass (because there was one lying around the house!) and
went from dance hall to dance hall just to listen to bass players...and learn. But it wasn't just any young
man. It was Caesar Singh, and two years later he went into a recording studio in Los Angeles and made
Do The Hunch. The funky bass style was born along with a career. Musicians recognize the hallmark of
his style as the predominate use of the single bass string. Listeners recognize only the driving, haunting
quality the freshness, vitality and excitement of Caesar Singh's funky bass.
Whether performing his own compositions or a standard favorite like Back Door Man, Caesar
contributes the wonderful sound of his inimitable funky bass.
