Not a demo, but two contests.
Pro Mini and Pro Street. Not a 72-hour "A-
Thon but skate hours from 9am-11pm. One
thing didn't change that never would, the
San Luis police are still dicks.
Mini-ramp first, about forty pros showed
up on the decks of a pretty clean U-pipe with
a small hip. The college students looked hun-

and Andy Roy were the ramp hogs that stood

stole the bacon and took first place home.

showed up for the street event than the mini.
Street contests are long and seem to be the
"job" portion of a
of anyone involved with skating
these days. Those who shralped were Karma.
Mariano. Mangum and Rothmeyer. Willy
Santos was the victor and Kareem Campbell
was the only one to go higher than the aver-
age college student on pair of rollerblades. I
didn't get laid all weekend. ■
