across a melancholy
game of chess. These
pieces are expendable
as they do battle on the
board and mercilessly
take one another out.
The kings move with
authority. They remain
on the playing field
until the game is over.
I recently hung with
Jason Adams and Tim
Brauch, two kings in
their own right. I tried
my best to get them to
talk about being room
mates, best friends and
skating together. These
attempts became use-
less as we sat around
the house and did what
skaters do best, hung
out and shot the shit.
JA: I don't know. If I
want them to operate,
they will. They won't
straighter, they just
want to drill it out so
I'm not always clogged
up all the time.
JA: I like my nose.
JA: I wouldn't have her
in the first place if she
had Salman's nose.
TB: Yeah I do actually. It's
kind of like a weird bar-
rier, but it's just some-
thing you have to get
over. I'm really stoked
on it, it's a challenge.
That's what I like skate-
boarding for, because
it's a challenge. I want to
learn switchstance even
tually on ramps I'm try
ing to learn a few switch-
stance blunt tricks and
I want to
learn switchstance kick-
flips on ramps. It just
takes a while because
your balance is different.
When you pull anything
switchstance it feels so
good you just want to
learn more.
JA: I don't really want
