What's your age and where do you live?
I live in Napa and I'm eighteen.
Who do you usually skate with?
I skate pretty much by myself. I'm a loner.
No one likes me because I barge, maybe.
What else do you do besides skate?
I work and hang out with this girl Camilla,
skating is pretty much my "after every
thing" type thing whenever I have free time.
What about when you want to get crazy
and let loose?
I just hang out with crazy people like
Eric Kirkwood in San Rafael. We get looped.
Just the other day we went disco dancing.
We had these towels around our heads, it
was crazy Not drink, though. Drugs, that's
out. I try the adrenaline things, natural
highs. I used to be the biggest cigarette
smoker and I just want to say something to
all you guys out there: Stop, get rid of it.
Don't turn sixty and still have that habit
around. It's so horrible.
What was it like skatin' today with
Karma and Wade?
it made me want to cry, Karma's so
underrated. And Wade, he's just Godly.
When I skate with those guys, I want to be
like them.
Are you more into technical tricks or the
older generation tricks?
I do things that are attractive to me, things that I feel I
look good doing. Fun things where you turn with it or
karate kick in the air or something. I don't like to get all set-
up and stand there for fifteen minutes and then totally snap
it and pop it. If I can't just feel the trick and flow with it or
dream about it, then I don't do it.
Any last words?
Yeah, if you ever let your mouth override your body,
you should know that one of these days, you'll totally regret
it. And skating, just stay with it. Tricks you can't do now
will be easier later because you've thought about it.

Where do you skate?
Sometimes we go to this kid Gino's house. It's fresh,
we skate out in front of his house. And we skate all
these different spots in New York City, Time Life, Union
uare Park, ington Square Park, wherever.
Windsor Courth
Windsor Caryl's the best le has marble ledges. They
de so good
Do you ever have any crazy chase stories?
Ong yeah we were
at Time-Life and the guard
stood up on top of the fountain so we wouldn't skate it
and some kids pushed him in.
And then the next time
we went there, the
guard attacked us
and he hit me in
the eye with a
walkie-talkie.
Don't they
have canine
units in the summer, patroling places to
skate in New York City?
Yeah, but this guy was walking around try-
ing to scare us off.
Did you have a good time out in SF?
It was so fun.
Who did you stay with out here?
Eric Pupecki and Ron Allen. It was fresh. I skated
a little with Mike York and Lavar. Those guys are real
cool, the EMB crew.
Didn't Gino backside 180 heelflip the Gonz?
Oh, yeah, dude. He did it so perfect. It flipped all slow
and stuff.
Where do you want to go in skateboarding?
I don't know about the pro thing. Pro's a big responsi
bility. I want to wait till I think I deserve it.
Any closing comments?
Thanks to my friend Alex in New York and Ron Allen.

I've been hanging out for the past few weeks, staying at
James' house, skating at EMB and around the city.

Paulo, Joey and
Fabian, all over
the Los Ange
les area.

any future plans?
I want to definately
go on tour this summer with
the team and skate wherever I can for as long as I can.
Closing comments?
Big shouts out to everyone at Extra Large, everyone at
EMB, and my homeboys in LA
How old are you?
Nineteen.
How long have you been
skating?
For five years and
twenty-one days.
What brought you
out to SF?
The weather and
skating brought me
out here. Back East,
the climate is more
extreme. It gets too
cold and wet in the
winter and way too hot
and humid in the summer
to be comfortable.
Who do you
usually skate with?
Mike York, Scott Johnston, Shelby
Woods, Aaron Meza and Lavar McBride.
What is your opinion right now towards
vertical skating?
Vert skating is bad. Danny Way and
Mike Frazier rule.
What else do you like besides skating?
I'm going to school at San Francisco
State, but I'm kind of behind because of my
skating and that makes it a drag. I have an
agreement with my parents to pay my rent
here while I go to school. I don't have a job
so I pretty much sell my used boards and
equipment to get by. I like watching movies
and listening to music with my friends.
What do you happening in skate-
boarding's future?
It's astind really solid. Like all of the
ricks are being really high and caught
clean. Is a raditage, like supertechnical
but super solid. When someone does a
Kickflip all high, caught and dean, that's real
What are your future plans?
'll probably never move back home to
the East due to the climate and just con-
nue to axave and here live here
Closing words?
Thams to my mom and dad, Greg
Carroll, Jim Thibaud. James Kelch, Chris
Pastras and Jason Lee.
