conditions. If you're content with the way things are
going on then you're in terrible shape, because it
isn't right. Just look around you. Especially black
people. A lot of us are content with the way things
are in our own community in our own warped
way. You live in a fucked up part of town, with a
fucked up job if you have one. A lot of times the pri-
crity is a nice car or some tennis shoes or a nice
hairstyle. What the fuck is that? You're not deter
mining your destiny with that shit. How could you
be happy with that, living for the moment? Black
people are a nation of consumers. We have three
hundred bilion dollars of purchasing power but we
don't have any political power, we don't have any
economic power that's concentrated. We're blind
for the most part socially. Our life expectancy is
decreasing while everybody else's is increasing,
so that should tell you that it's definitely a state of
emergency. The only way to rectify that is re-edu-
cation, a complete revamping. Learn what you for-
got and forget what you learned, because a lot of
the shit that you get in the school system is lies.
Damn near everything you see on TV is lies. The
media is full of shit. You need to think for yourself
and discern what is good and what isn't because
if you can't do it then you're going to always be at
somebody's mercy. You'll always be lookin' for
something from somebody ar working for some-
one else, or always be of the mind-set that some-
body is supposed to do something for you. You
automatically assume subordinate status when
you think that way because you're constantly look-
ing to somebody else to take care of you. I just
think people should become more aware of the
conditions around them and why they exist. Stop
taking things for granted and learn to determine
your own destiny.

oned with. Her paralyzing death grip, the Cuban
clam dip, has been banned in four of the two
states her last tour took her through. It is rumored
that the demoralizing "clam dip' choke hold leaves
opponents unhappy, semi-conscious and strug-
ging with their own true sexual identity. Don't let
this bull get you by the balls or it will mean cur-
tains for your crotch. This lather-lapping grappler
rules the ring with the tenacity of a nymphomani
acal black widow.
Jerry Curl The Activator a.k.a. Lance Moulder
(bass) Jerry Curl, an Oklahoma City street
urchin, has taken on some of the flyest of gangstas
and B-boys and emerged fresh, even stupid. His
posse is always def and dope. If the Activator
isn't simply macking, warming it up with a pimp-
ing beat or just plain living large, you can bet that
there's a show he's going to bum rush... pronto!
The Beige Maniac. The Full-Lipped wonder...
Pappy Longcratch... Jerry came to get busy with
his very own highly acclaimed "frenum death
pinch. Better find out what time it is, because Jerry
knows and he's ready to get down with it. Word to
Mom and Dad.
Nacho Chip the Lone Star Dangler a.k.a. Chip
Fisher (drums) Nacho Chip, alias the Lone Star
Dangler, was conceived and born in the seedy
underbelly of South Houston. The Dangler gath-
ered inner strength to escape the hardships of his
harsh fifth ward upbringing. Unable to rap, peddle
flesh or sell drugs properly, he began a profes-
sional wrestling career at the frail age of seven
When he isn't pounding skins, he's having his own
skin pounded and battered around the ring. A
successful procurer and administrator of "the ver
tical penile soufflé," the Dangler is prepared to
hang around for awhile, maybe longer.
Star Bangled Banger a.k.a. Chris Chambers
(guitar) Be afraid, be very, very afraid. Horror
sprung from the Southland has never been as
menacing. The Star Bangled Banger is a product
of too much Alabama com squeezings. Georgia
moonshine and Mississippi chicken whiskey. The
bastard prince of blue collars and rednecks, this
piece of white trash is a Panhandle twister just
ready for some trailer-tumbling terrorism. He's
wound-up and sitting pretty. If he isn't tweaking.
the envelope, you can bet even the most worthy
of his rivals are having a devil of a time fighting
his needle in the haystack' take-down. He's all-
country, all-American and all-cousin. 'Nuff said.
HENDRIX

chop it down with the edge of my hand
("Voodoo Chile, Jimi Hendrix)
Water, one of the most formless substances
imaginable, was one of Jimi's favorite metaphors
(the other was sand) (Jimi Hendrix: Electric Gypsy.
Harry Shapiro). Water is the source of all life. It is
the prototype of everything fluid and lends itself to
constant metamorphosis and change. "You will
never hear surf music again," because man, who
owes everything to water is a monstrous sabo-
beur of nature and its cycles. Jimi looks down and
says. "There ain't no life nowhere." ("I Don't Live
Today," Jimi Hendrix).
If you can just get your mind together we'll hold
hands and then we'll watch the sun rise from the
bottom of the sea/but first are you experi-
enced have you ever been experienced?/well!
have ("Are You Experienced," Jimi Hendrix)
Jimi was experienced. Jimi allowed no restric-
tions, no limitations. "Freedom of action" was Jimi's
credo, his religion-he often autographed his pho-
tos with the words Stay Free" (Jimi Hendrix:
Electric Gypsy, Harry Shapiro). Water is the source
of life and Jimi was watching the sun rise from the
bottom of the sea. Neil Young said of Jimi, "He was
completely gone-so liquid" (Guitar World
Magazine). That is the essence. Jimi defied grav-
ity in his medium. His sonic imagery is filled with
unfettered flights of freedom. His aural maneuvers
call up the most extreme images of energy blast-
ing. penetrating, saturating, rearranging and puri-
fying space. Jimi finds redemption in his song.
1983 A Merman I Shall Turn To Be." The song is
his anti-gravity anthem
Hooray I awake from yesterday ave but the war
is here to stay so my love Catherine and me/
decide to take our last walk through the noise to
the sea/not to die but to be reborn Away from
lands so battered and torn/Forever
Well it's too bad that our friends can't be with us
today the machine that we built would not save
us that's what they say/they also said it's
impossible for a man to live and breathe under-
water anyway you know good and well it would
be beyond the will of God and the grace of the
king
So my darling and I make love in the sand to salute
the last moment ever on dry land our machine
has done its work well played its part well we bid
it farewell/starfish and giant forms greet us with
a smile before our heads go under we take a last
look at the killing noise of the out of style.
