seem like glamour, girls and
glory, but rest assured, there
are plenty of scabs, crabs and
personal jabs to contend with.
Not every kid who drops out
of school to be a skate star
ends up owning his or her
company. The truth might be
the bitterest pill to
swallow, but after
all, it is the truth.
2. You go to your first contest
and summon up enough
gumption to ask a pro
(gasp) for an autograph.
Now, you are stuck and the
ball is just starting to roll.
4. After zillions of sessions with
nobody around, you get a
chance to show a crowd what
you are about. No one knows
who you are, but they are more
than willing to watch you kill
yourself. After the session, some-
one comes up and says, "You're

is called "The Hook-up.
