URNER
Down at SF's Embarcadero there are a Board set-up: Flat tailed boards, any trucks and
few who stand out from the crowd. 40mm wheels.

dorks that quit skating.
Family: I have a mom and
a sister. My dad is a base-
head somewhere in the
ghetto.
Who are your favorite
skaters? Jason Lee and
Mark Gonzales have been
my favorites and always
will be. But I like Tim Gavin,
Mike Carroll, Guy, Rudy.
Rick I, Rick H, Jim Thie-
baud, and I like Mike Ter-
nasky the most.
What is gnarly? Pat Duffy
is the gnarliest shit ever,
and Mark Gonzales' hand-
rail in the Blind video.

barcadero. I can't skate any-

woman to go
out with.
What do you think of the new
tricks? Skating is not even freestyle at all
because freestyle is on a small board and street is
on a big board. All of skating right now is getting
harder and harder. Switchstance is the hardest
shit ever.
Anything bug you about skating right now?
Nothing really except for how everybody jumps on
the bandwagon. It seems like everyone dresses
and looks the same. People just need to get off
other people's nuts and be themselves.
What do you think of contests and what is
your ideal contest? Sometimes contests are fun
but most of them suck because of the course. The
lamest thing about the contests lately have been
skating with sixteen other people at once.
What will the future bring? The future will bring
me a brand new fuckin' convertible BMW, maybe.
giving me boards and
being so cool.
How do you make.
your line? At a con-
test, I don't even think.
I just go with the flow,
bro. No, then I would
be lying.
What do you do when
you aren't skating? I
skate daily from about
twelve to seven and
then the night begins
with the girls. When I'm
not skating, I find a
woman to go out with.
Did you play sports.
as a child? I always
played basketball. I
play now but I hurt my
ankle playing so I don't play
much anymore.
First tricks as a grommet:
One-footed ollies were a big
trick for me because I saw
Jason Lee do them.
What do you think of the flatland scene? I like
skating flatland and blocks at EMB because it's an
everyday thing.
Traveling: I've never been out of the United
States, but I've been to Texas.
Music: I listen to nothing other than hip-hop, Del
and the Hoodies (Apakafew Pedestrians).
Food: I like sushi because once this girl told me
that sushi makes you horny. I also like Philly
cheese steaks.
Car: I've had fourteen cars in the past year, but
now I have a 1957 bug. Every check I get. I usu-
ally buy a car or a car part.
Where will skating stop? I don't think skating will
ever stop. But freestyle and vert are slowing down
real fast. Bye bye.
