Undercover in the baby factory
America is a baby factory, up, down, through and through.
At 18 you get the itch, 20 'you've done it all," 22 you are
'set, 24 you are married. 26 the babies are here, and at
30 you are dust. Situated somewhere between the Atlantic
and Pacific oceans is Ohio, the breadbasket of America. Ohio
is an amalgamation of many cities in search of a metropolis.
The streets are clean and they reek of a history lesson about
when America was strong and proud. Somehow or some-
where, the dream went bust. A failing economy and a non-car-
ing president have led to broken dreams, failed business and
deserted strip malls. People are so concerned with Eppeer-
ance that they have lost the spirit to fight. These fat white
people are on a collision course with the changing tide that is
America, and they had better wake-up to the real world. Chio
is so segregated that I did not meet one person that wasn't
white. But I forecast a change, for when this kettle bails over.
there is going to be a world of hurt
Arriving in Whattown, Ohio, and were immediately whisked
off to Masonite dustbin called Sunsports Word is that some
windsurfer opened it so he could rake cash off the roller
crowd. Me, I don't care, if there is anything to skate, I'm on it.
Due to a low ceiling, the lay-out is short and squat. It features.
a 32-foot wide mini with extensions and vert to the ceiling.
assorted minis and a street area full of curbs, lips and walls.
There were lots of skaters and few rules, which is always cool
by me. We skated for two hours and the humid conditions.
