As you can see by the sign (left), no skating on
old boards is allowed around here. The long arm of
the law cones in many shapes and forms. As a
skater and a cop, Micke Reyes (right) knows both
sides of the coin. off-duty, Mick lets loose a

frontside blunt slide at a popular no bust super-
market. Oblivious to the restrictions of modern
anti-skate sentiment, John Montessi (sequence)
slices a clean nose blunt on the edge of nowhere.
Why cry about scraped paint when the world is
an environmental time bomb that can explode in
our faces at any time? It's time to put things
into perspective. Is the world so backward you
can get arrested for skating in a street where
swirling styrofoam has replaced fluttering
leaves and household toxic wastes fill the sew-
ers below? The sky is falling, little chickens,
and we are dancing in the fire.
If they think it is bad now, imagine their
horror in a few decades when the world is
totally lathered. Hills will be coated in wheel
dust and every curb will have an aluminum edge.
They can kick us out, but we don't care, we'll
be back. In the meantime, we'll just go on to
the next spot and keep breaking it down..
