A Beginner's Guide
To Dropping In
The day has finally come; it is time for
your first vertical drop-in. This simple
maneuver can be dangerous, and if you
don't go about it the right way it could
be disastrous. Hopefully, you will have
tried it before on a mini or quarter-pipe
which is the same feeling. The only
difference between a vertical and non-
vertical drop is that you go faster and
feel like you are momentarily weightless.
Like most things in skating, it will be
easier if you can imagine yourself doing
it. The hardest part is walking up to the
platform and making everyone wait while
you shit your pants. Once you are there,
tell them this is your first drop and they
will probably let
you go. (They)
want to see a
good beef.)
1) Be confident.
Think of a total
kook you know
who can do it
and say, "If they
