VERTICAL SUPPORT
In regards to Matt Meade who
wrote in the November '91 issue:
You have a lot of nerve calling
somebody narrow-minded while
your mind is so narrow you can't
get a single decent thought through
it. You've never had an urge for
vert because you never took the
time to try it. If I had plenty of vert
in my town, then I know where I
would be at least one-third of my
skating time. The rest of the time
I'd be skating whatever got in my
way. I bet if you learned one trick
on a twelve-footer, you would be
addicted. If you have so much balls
in the street. I dare you to try a
takie rock on vert. I don't think you
can pull it. Maybe you should keep
your sorry ass in the street and
save me an extra run on a killer.
ramp. Free your mind to free your-
self. A true skater can skate all for
fun and cheese.

SOUL PATROL
I've been a devoted Thrasher
reader since day one, until recent-
ly. In the "olden days," Thrasher
saw no boundaries, printing any-
thing that was "radical" about skat-
ing and its scene. I don't mean
"radical" like "rad dude," I mean
extreme. Thrasher was a skate-
board mag that showed the diver-
sity of skateboarding.
What happened? Thrasher
understandably needs to keep up
with the times, but it's gone too far.
Where's Thrasher's soul? Now
every trick is hyphenated and there
are full-pagers of the same damn
move three times in an issue. I

have nothing against street or
ramp, but the diversity is definitely
lacking. Pools, ditches, pipes and
banks are important elements of
skating today. Why have you
chosen not to cover any of these
aspects anymore?
There are still many "old timers" (1
hate that term) who haven't gotten
killed, crippled, married with chil
dren, or "lost my board some-
where Skating still courses
through our veins, and without
many of us. Thrasher would have
never gotten started.
Please, don't forget what skating
is made of, where it came from,
and, especially, the ones who sup-
ported it. Your mag has influenced
many and still does. But, it does
not influence me now and I'm sure
many others feel the same void.

In ten years old timers will com
plain there aren't enough handrails
in the mag. And Brannon will still
be writing pool stories. T-ed
HARD FOR HENRY
In regards to the interview with
G.G. Allin (freak), how could you let
this guy talk that way about Henry
Rollins? Mister Allin, you're just
jealous because Henry made a
name for himself and you are still
shil. In a battle of the bands you
would lose in the first two chords.
You wouldn't know the meaning of
hardcore punk if it fell on you.
You're just as much of a fascist as
the government. People like Henry
Rollins, Jello Biafra and Mike Muir
