            PRODUCT PATROL
XT WHEELZ
XT Wheelz, P.O. Box 4746, San Clemente, CA 92674-7746
I mentioned these all-terrain wheels before, but here's the
scoop to go with the photo. XT's are
composed of a highly abrasion-resistant
rubber formula molded onto a graphite
and fiberglass reinforced nylon com-
posite hub. Each wheel is 112 mm high,
63.5 mm wide and weighs 485 grams.
Any board can be converted into a dirt-
board in a matter of minutes with XT's
and a couple riser pads, but they will
set you back roughly $100 a set.
Skateboard design is changing daily. Tony Hawk was recently seen in possession of a simplistic
yet unashamedly two-tailed deck. Can the "industry" keep up with the Bird? Look out for the new
Neil Hendrix and Rick Ibeseta decks from New Deal as well as the Mike Carrol from H-Street.
Gator was shopping around with Bible in hand; Vision lost faith in the poor boy. Fishlips bought it
hook, line & sinker. Still no word from the Sarge on the "Killers" deck. Hey, companies, get your
priorities straight-send Jake stuff.
REESE SIMPSON
BBC 1106 Second st. Box 124 Encinitas, CA 92024
BBC Skateboards has something new for
you. It is a slick bottom board. (Similar to
the Santa Cruz "Ever Slick" mentioned in the April Product Patrol.) The Reese Simpson
model is the deck I got with the built-in slick bottom. This stuff really slides well and wears
great. Aside from the slick bottom, the board has a large front end that tapers back to a
smaller tail. I have always found BBC wood to be very skateable and this board is right in
there. I have to give BBC a hand on the funky spaceship graphics. Reese's space shuttle is
32.25" long, 10.5" wide with a 6" nose, 6.5" of tail and a 14.25" wheelbase.
PEACE BOMB
Clash Skateboards, P.O. Box
802384, Santa Clarita, CA
91380-2384
New for 1991 is Clash Skate-
boards. The board I received is the
Peace Bomb. Clash skateboards
feature a shallow concave, a flip taill
and a double-truck pattern on the
front. The overall board shape is
fairly basic. The Peace Bomb is
32.25" long, 9.5" wide, with 5.75" or
6.25" of nose and a large 7.25" tail.
As it says on the bottom of this
board, "Live to Ride. Ride to Live."

Yes, another new company.
wants you as their customer. The
Tom Peha has a clean shape that
seems geared for the street shred-
der. Measurements: 32.5" by 9.75",
with 6.5" of tail, a 6.25" nose and a
sturdy 14.5" wheelbase. This board.
is fairly long, but it feels and looks
small under your feet. It has that
popular three-tone stain on top and
bottom. I'm sure you will see these
at your local skate shop, so step on
one and see how it feels to you.

The Z-Boyz have
come out with a new

make for a good ride..
Like most boards.
today, it features a
straight cut with no
fish shape or pointed
nose. This deck fea-
tures a semi-flip tail,
fairly deep concave
and steep nose. The wheelbase can be set
at 14" with a large 6.75" nose or a 14.75
wheelbase with a smaller 6" nose. This slab
just might be the one to nab, so keep your
eyes peeled, Brahski.
T-N-A RAIDERS
ATI, 3300 Kashiwa St., Torrance, CA 90505
Here's a company I bet none of you
skate hogs have ever heard of. T-N-A
Raider makes some of the lightest riser
pads I've ever skated and they come in
many colors. They have a few different
models to choose from. The " riser is
the Ultra Light Spider Pad. The clear X"
pad is the shock absorbing Vibra Pad
made of a rubbery absorbing material.
They also make your standard X" thick
Spectra pad which is stackable and
interlocking. All of these riser pads have
a strategically-placed hole to accommo-
dale kingpins that stick out of the bottom
of the truck.
Next month we'll take a look at Take
Skateboards and a new longboard by
Walker for all you surf cruisers out
there. Until then...send: Jake Phelps,
