that brought Tony and the future Mrs.
Hawk, Cindy Dunbar, served as a
mobile command center for Ed
Riggins, K.T., M.Fo and their
charges while Vitello and Swenson
ordered up a vast spread of food and
bev for all. That's what's supposed to
happen, anyway, since this party is so
happening it hasn't happened yet. It
starts tonight after we put this issue to
bed. More details next issue.
STAY TUNED
Full coverage next issue of the NSA
Skatetown Mania Mini-Ramp contest
in San Jose, CA. For now all we can
say is that Omar Hassan won big,
but barely, over Tony Hawk. Cabal-
lero mastered third, Wade Speyer
found fourth and Jeff Kendall fifth.
Rounding out the top ten were a
speedy Mike McGill, trickster Chad
Vogt, city boy Guerrero, J.J. Rogers
and Alphonso Rawls. A full five of
the ten were NorCal brethren. Other
noteworthies were Jeff Phillips'
attempted vaults off the roll-out rail
over a ten foot channel gap, Eddie
Elguera cracking the top fifteen and
100 THRASHER MAGAZINE
injured Jason Rogers, who went
from the top five in the semis to
23rd, but earned due respect.
San Jose's civic auditorium
proved to be an ideal sight for
the Dave Crabb-designed/
Stevo and Duncan built
tri-mini ramp. The only
thing lacking was
advertising, a packed
house of skate fans and
a crew to haul away the
ramps after it was all
over. Those who did
show were treated to one
of the best events of the
year.
QUOTES
"I only drank a quart but
I got sick a gallon."
Jim Knight
"It must have been some-

it."
Richard Novak
"If this was cement, we'd all be
in the hospital."
