the
katers
There's no denying it, professional skateboarding is a
virile, aggressive and often harsh rolling sport. Advanced
aerial, boardslide, invert and lip maneuvers have risen like
weeds through the pavement for the past dozen or so
years, but not without a toll on flesh and bones. Like a
control group of rats in a harrowing biological experiment,
the current pack of veteran pro skaters are being closely
observed to see just how long they can hold up under fire.
So far, they show no signs of slowing, but on the horizon, a
group of able bodies are rising to snatch the torch and
carry it beyond the realm of possibility. Here's a
healthy sampling of modern
skateboarding's present
and future.
