Paul Casteel, longtime skater and singer for rowdy rockers House Of Wheels.
celebrated his 30th birthday at the Nightbreak in S.F. with a raging evening
of sounds. Opening the set was Slang, a bunch of ex-members of RKL, whose
show is an explosion ruffian rockola. House of Wheels capped off the festivities
with a delirious Casteel reeling in front of the microphone, totally unable to
recall, let alone pronounce any words to any songs. The band left Mr. Casteel
on stage clutching the mike in a bewildered stupor. (RC

Rock and roll ugliness of the
month award goes to the (now
former) singer of Spider Baby (the
latest scorchin' project by one-time
Drunk Injuns Mike Fox and Matt
Etheridge). During a show at S.F's
luxurious Paradise Lounge, said
singer was so drunk he staggered
backward, running into Mike's Mar-
shall stack. Singer and Marshall
then toppled off the back of the
stage and straight out the
emergency exit door into Folsom
Street. The rest of the band follow
ed him out, worked him over and
kicked him out of the band on the
spot. Talk about a floor show!
