fishing expedition off Sunset Boulevard just
a couple of feet from Hackett's primordiali

of the three large great white sharks proved
the rumors to be true. Talk about live bait.
The city of Hot Springs, Arkansas is
rumored to be taking over a ramp skatepark
from Charles Oxford, owner of the Bike
Haus. The Little Rock skate facility was
mentioned in numerous press reports as
being a positive model in the endeavor.
The Hosol training facility, still rumored to

ARIES
Get ready to hang onto your horns this
month, Ram-like one, because it's going to be
a doozy. When the tri-unar convergence aligns
on the 5th, your biorhythmic ghivity will be
thrown off and life will gehectic Tape your
ankles heavily if you plan to skate north, ollie
onto but hot off painted curb and don't tweek
any frontside Trans-lunar polarity is
strongest between the 9th and the 11th, so
remove your wallet before doing backside G
turns or you may demagnetize your credit
cards. April has the potential to become truly
magnificent, as long as you make sure your
wheels roll forward more than they to
backward-otherwise the cosmic tide will be
reversed and you will face misery and pain.
Jonathan Pekar, Aaron Murray, Hackett,
Eddie Reategui, Jason Lee and Jesse
Martinez. Life got particularly competitive
when Christian unveiled his new full-sized
tournament-quality pool table. Spirited
doubles battles included Oster and Pekars'
long back-to-back-to-back-to-forever runs of
the table which were eventually eclipsed by
Christian and Charlie King's revenge bank
shots. The table crown continues to float with
Hosoi's custom pool cue always at the
forefront. Further rumors had Little Man and
Tran attempting to jump Martinez and Block.
(A mistake to be sure, as retaliation was
thorough and swift-all in good fun of course,
and all in Christian's living room.)
Further rumors put Christian with a new
sponsor and Hosoi, Hackett and Olson in
a new partnership clothing-wise.
Mr. Ridge is rumored to be last seen

Co down 'bama way.

1990 NSA STATUS REPORT
Here's a quick look at the National
Skateboard Association's latest transformation,
as of press time... Rumor has it that longtime
CASL president and NSA Amateur Program
Director Sonja Catalano was unceremoniously
fired from her position on the board, then asked
to resign, then "laid off" with a letter of recom-
mendation. Sonja has been a part of amateur
skateboarding for years; she knows skate-
boarding well and has helped create associa-
tions, skateparks and contests all over the
country. The 1989 amateur program was fun,
brought skating to skate-starved areas, pro-
duced a ton of heavy rippers and ran on
schedule. The am finals even made money,
while the pro program floundered throughout
the year, barely making it to St. Pete.
The "new" NSA has big plans for 1990, but
most of their schedule includes "tentative" or
"to be announced" beside each entry. While
Tom Cozens, Don Bostick and Frank Hawk
(the new Am Program Director) are hoping for
a great new season and a chance to get
skateboarding recognized as a "sport," their
first mistake may be not including Sonja in
those plans. Their latest "industry update"" let-
ter signed off with the statement, "The future
of skateboarding in the 90s will be what-we-
make it." I presume they mean the industry,
clueless parents, shop owners and skatepark
proprietors. What about the skaters? -K.T.

MORE OUTRAGE?
Is the motorsport duo of Tracker Larry and
Frank Fahey heading to a Texas speed oval
for a worldwide fastest car shoot-out spon-
sored by Road and Track magazine? When
last heard from, the pair flew Balma's BMW
up to Virginia City, winning the Hill Climb
class.
Was Mr. Roskopp's actually grinding the
lip of a kidney stone operation in last month's
biologically burly Big Balls ad? Was he really
on the David Letterman Show?

QUESTION TEN
Just who was the guy named John who
claimed to be a 33-year-old "ex-champion
skateboarder" on TV's Love Connection?
OOPS UPDATE
In the March issue on page 80, we incor-
rectly gave Sean Sullivan credit for the photo
of Big Jim Moore. This shot was actually
taken by Bill Thomas. Sorry Bill. To make
up for it, here's a photo of Bill so all you girls
who have been inquiring can check him out.
Further mishaps in the credit-giving
department omitted Carol Sheridan's tag
from the photo of Jeff Grosso on page 74
of the February 1990 issue. Sorry Carol. And
sorry guys, we have no photo of her.
