In regard to your Ice Burners arti-
cle (December '89). I think it is full
of shit. We "pole-clutching swivel-
neck ski-heads" can rip it up better
than any snowboarder ever will. We
skiers have been ripping it up before
snowboards were even on the draw
ing board. You say the air factor is
unreal, but can you compare it to the
cliff jumps of Scott Schmitt? If ski-
ing is such a mellow, laid-back sport,
where do you get people like Glenn
Plake and his three-foot Mohawk? 1
don't think you have any right to put
skiers down. I have never heard of
a snowboarder pulling out triple back
flips with four rotations. I don't see
how a sport that takes ten days to
master can even compare to the
amount of effort it takes to become
an average bump skier. I think you
should check out the skiing scene
before you knock it. I'm sick of hear-
ing skiing get put down by snow-
boarders. I don't think you have a
right to do it. They are our hills, and

There are some skaters that we
hate. We call them the Dimple Butts
because all they do is sit on their
asses all day and get dimples from
the grip tape. We hate them because
they think they're bad, but they're
really posers. They live where all the
bums live, including them. Their
cousins are rejects. One has buck
teeth and the other has connect-the-
dots on his face. We don't skate with
them anymore because if we did, we
would get dimples.

thirteen-year-old open-minded per-
son who skateboards. This year I
decided to play football hoping that
it would be fun. After 11 games and
65 practices our season ended in the
semi-finals. I found that the reason
I play football is the same reason I
to say it, children, but you should be
the scared ones. When you die you'l
have a one-way ticket to downtown.
