ROUGH START: A raiding posse of roughly thirty
raging mangy whoop-it-up four-wheeled cowboys
assembled in the L.A.X. International Terminal
at the JAL counter for a special mission to the
Far East, a competition in Tokyo, Japan. The
cocktail lounge nearest the gate was the chosen
ritualistic watering hole for pre-flight jitter relief.
Slammin' them down were Mark Partian, Craig
Johnson, Christian Hosoi, Dave Hackett, Jim
Murphy, Malba, Ben Schroeder, Jay Adams, Scott
Oster, the Grosso, Eddie Reategui, Eric Dressen,
Tom Guerrero, Reese Simpson and assorted
members. the press. Others waiting patiently
for zero hour in the seats near the gate included
Rodney Mullen, Per Welinder, Darryl Grogan,
Tom Knox, Bill Danforth, Doug Smith, Jim ►
