Clockwise from Left: Barker Barret, he'll do it if you dare it. King
of the wall, Fred Reeves won it all. Dockland champ Al Losi rules
the ramp. Never falter, never bail, Bucky's fish is always stale.

Obviously the promoters of this one-
shot contest had a good mind to attract
many traveling Americans and several
Brits returning from the World Cham-
pionships in Munster. For the touring
skaters, it was a good opportunity to
hang out in London, skate the multitude
of cement parks, and still have a skate
"event" to rally around. The contest,
held in the Docklands area (which looks
like a chunk of lower Manhattan)
beyond London's East End, drew less
than 500 people to the London Arena.
Those who managed to find the out-of-
the way hall were treated to an excellent
skate show as a reward.
Bod Boyle and Steve Douglas were
favored on their home turf due to their
extensive ramp training in San Jose.
However, a few other Englishmen gave
them a hearty challenge. Pete Dossett
has come on strong of late. He pulled
a lot variations on the fakie 180° theme.
Neil Danns skated with local authority.
Sean Goff and Lucian Hendricks were
blazing early on, but fell off pace due
to ongoing injuries. The Scots were well
represented by Stan Stanners, Davie
Philip, Mark Hamilton and Jamie Blair.
Sergio Negao brought his frontside
540°s over before heading back to
Brazil. The American contingency.
headed up by Al's (Losi and Midgette)
also included Jeff Hedges, John Fabri-
quer and Sash. All totaled, this was a
fun jam, but it's doubtful it will become
an annual event. - Kevin J. Thatcher
