MILLWOOD

ason and David Mertz waded through the saucy
underbrush, fighting claw-like foliage that peeled
and prodded the everpresent asphalt-etched
wounds on their skin. The boys trudged and hacked
through the forest, clinging to the hope that would
escape the can o' worms they had found themselves.
in. Finally, the weary lads took deep breaths and began
what they hoped would be their last ascent. Halfway
up, near exhaustion and craving Big Gulps, they stop-
ped to rest their quaking limbs. Jellybean sized
mosquitos zeroed in immediately on the motionless
