up in a bucket."-Gator-To the Mickey
Mouse Club (Quoted by Mike Deutsch of
Lake Elsinore, CA.)
In a world of rampant skate harassment,
little surprises most hardened vets. Despite
the best efforts of skaters like Jim Fox,
Elizabeth City, North Carolina, banned
skateboarding in the downtown area. Are the
penalties for being caught: 1) probation; 2)
community service; and 3) MANDATORY
CHURCH ATTENDANCE?
Other curious civic reactions include the
recent fray over skating at Venice Beach.
There skate activists such as "Skateboard
Mama" Liz Bevington, Harry Perry, Hiram
the Roller and Ruth Galanter overturned the
ban on skating at V-Beach. Curiously
enough, at the same time in the city of L.A.
the Department of Transportation is moving
to gain the authority to ban skateboarding
without approval by the City Council. Those

tures of these United States may be alarm-
ed to note the bypassing of checks and
balances in this proposed move. Sound like
the Fourth Reich yet, gang? Under the new
proposed social order, problem areas could
be instantly put off limits.

AUTISTIC LICENSE
Pushead will have his art featured in a
gallery showing at NYC's Psychedelic Solu-
tion. The gallery will offer original Pushead
art for sale and viewing. The show opens
August 30th and closes October 31st (a fit-
ting date for the sinister praetor of the 'Zone).
Other skater art on recent display was an
exhibit at Original Gallery Designs in Belmont
Heights, CA. Included were works by Doug
Boyce, Eric Somers and Brian Woods.
Not to be outdone, K.T. is reportedly
pounding the last nail into a piece of work
featuring the board collection that used to
hang over his brother's woodshop on the
Thrasher Ranch in Los Gatos, CA. The
framed collage of boards, all hand-tooled and
shaped in the 70s by the editor himself,
weighs almost 200 pounds.
