It's great that you love Patti for her
tape. Every tape that they have pro
duced has had some sort of satanic
symbol such as a pentagram or an
upside-down cross. How were we
the listeners supposed to know they
were just joking? I think that is just
a cover-up to gain more popularity.
I like Slayer, but there's no need to
lie about something that's already
been recorded.

I enjoyed Rodney's article on
freestyle skating-the more you
know the more you appreciate the
art. I don't agree "it all began" with
Ty Page and Stacy Peralta. Ten
years prior to "their day." Bruce
Logan defined freestyle (mostly
wheelles, head and handstands) on
the worst possible equipment: the
dreaded clay wheel. With the
urethane wheel came "Mr. Red-
face" himself, Russ Howell. One-
finger handstands, handstand
wheelies, handstand 360°s-he
brought gymnastics to the sport.
Then Curt Lindgren, skating for Ty
Page, invented the kickflip. From
this time until Rocco took over, Ed
Nadalin ruled! These guys defined
pre-modern freestyle, and if it
weren't for them doing their respec-
tive "things," then we wouldn't be
where we are now.
