Skate before snowboarding?
Yeah, I skated a little vert and a lot
of downhill. At this point in my career,
I stay away from ramps because it's
too risky for me to get hurt.
Skater influences?
I haven't taken much notice of that.
We watch skating and relate the
tricks to the hall-pipe, but no par-
ticular skater has influenced me.
Favorite tricks and terrain?
Half-pipe riding in general, but
they're not always easily accessible.
When I get into one, I'll ride it as
much as possible. Going down a hill
finding jumps; you take the same
run, get a line down and it's great.
Biggest rush?
was pretty mellow. Then it dropped
off all of a sudden and I flew about
fifty feet. The nose of my board dug
into the snow but my bindings didn't
go out. I broke my ankle.
Closing comments?
I'd like to see more skaters get in-
to snowboarding.

Yeah, for about a year. I like vert,
ditches, streets.

Stevie Caballero. I like Hawk
because he comes up with all the
new tricks.
Favorite tricks or terrain?
Free-boarding's fun because
that's how it all started, but half-pipes
open up a lot more possibilities.

Probably the

It's between forty-

and got caught in
an avalanche for

and there's no turning back-it's time
to catch some air. That was before
there were any high-back bindings.

Everybody should get out there
and try it. Don't get frustrated with
not riding too well on your first day
because the first day is always a
tough one

Not really. The way I skate ramps
influences the way I snowboard.

I like really tweaked backside airs.
Biggest rush?
Powder Full speed in powder.

Not as much in snowboarding. In
skating like it. I like to skate to bands
like the Beastie Boys or the Red Hot
Chili Peppers.
Gnarliest snowboard experience?
A year ago I was with some skiers
They went ahead and I had to catch
up with them, so I started going full
speed. It was a "black" trail but it

Breckenridge is too flat. More.
