Neil Blender likens assaulting
the bowl's shoals to skimboarding atop the white wash
of a Pacific shore break. For a particularly cool pool he
might modify his cue by shaving a few inches off the nose,
thus allowing easier nasal passage up a short transition.
Roadie supreme A. Rab is known to
pull foot-and-a-half frontside airs out
of blue-tiled shallow ends, then slam
them right back down, scraping both
nose and tail up and back. ►
