ZUNE WHING
ATROGASNA
The more than two hundred zines we
received in 1987 were all unique and
inspiring. The unmentioned shouldn't
be discouraged or care. You all should
make zines and send them in. They're
fun to make, are a nice soapbox, and, if
no one likes it, you can always recycle

The cluttered, chaotic pages of Skate
Muties from the 5th Dimension scream
with creativity and comedy. Maybe it's]
the way these guys talk that makes
SMSD so much fun to read. That, and i
millions of cut-outs, caption bubbles!
and scrawls crammed in the columns.
This is the best skate zime of 1987.
Number four contains "Top Tips for
Crap Skaters," "A Cretin's Guide to
Surfing." "Great Weirdo Bands of All
Times" and much more. You can't go
wrong with this rag. "Roll out the bar-
rels of fizzy pop! Put up the bunting!

the leftovers for a couple bucks a ton.
For legal reasons we won't print all ad-
dresses. Don't cry. In most rags you will
find lists of address, which will lead you
to more addresses, etc., which should
keep you busy. The creators of the best
rags all seem to have similar attitudes i

Limbo Akimbo has gotten rave praise
in the past, but they deserve further
mention for keeping up the Akimbo
production quality and humor. Well
done and original. Award for best re-
view of Thrashin': ("Hook, of course,
doesn't want his sister to go out with a
guy from 'the valley," let alone some-
one who bathes, so he challenges him to
a joust; an intense competition where
two skaters skate back and forth in a
drainage ditch and try to hit each other
with what appears to be a cornish game
hen on a chain. The only rule seems to
be that the hen must be swung in circles
even when your opponent is 40 feet
away."). Continuing columns are Vege-
table of the Month, Dick Skater and
constantly edifying editorial. "Does
this surge of skate interest mean that it
will be big for awhile? Or does a light i
burn brightest before it BURNS OUT?"

good time is more important than im-
pressing people or making a marketable
