everyone wonders why Pat Ngoho keeps
getting lost.
The following is a condensed account
of the Nice visit. There are several events
that bear scrutiny. Something here just
doesn't seem right and may prove vital to
OPERATION: BROKEN WING.
•Late at night in downtown Nice, young
girls stradling Ninja motorcycles fly at high
speeds through the streets. You can drink
beers at a sidewalk cafe 'til three in the
morning and watch them sail by
The most beautiful French women don't
speak English. Especially the topless
ones down at the intoxicating seaside.
Unusual circumstances cause the
whole group to switch hotels. There was
an ambulance, but all were present and
accounted for.
Enroute, by cab, to the second hotel, Pat
Ngoho is spotted rolling through an
intersection. Very suspicious.
• Next hotel overlooks beach. All acquire
rooms with balconies providing excellent
vantage points, and, if necessary, fields
of fire. (This situation could be complete-
ly coincidental, but there are too many
pieces to this puzzle now to risk not seeing
the big picture).
The first of many attempts initiated by
Rob Roskopp is made in the name of
'Lobster dinner.' An obvious pattern is for-
ming. Decoy excursions.
Just outside town, a ramp is located
behind a radio-controlled security gate.
The grounds are patrolled by a large, black
dog. The ramp is weathered and a bit shy
of perfect. Utilizing the available elements,
the skateboarders take to riding.
•Mountain attempts and executes what
is called a 540° twirl in the air.
They do things that, when described,
require a new approach to the English
language. Ex: doubles, rocket-air, gay-
twist, lay-back, Skuhl, my scene.
1.) The Gonz and the Gator are check-
ed into completely different hotels. 2.) They
both have the same first, real name. 3.)
They both have a separate funny sounding
name that begins with G. 4.) A lot of the
stickers on both their skateboards match.
While sitting in a bar, Duncan gives the
counter-counter sign "The rain in Spain
falls mainly on the plain." But being so
caught up in the moment, I fail to recall
ever saying, "You betcha," the counter
sign to, "I'm sorry." No positive contact.
While I'm taking notes in a sidewalk cafe,
waiter accidentally bumps my arm and
says, "I'm sorry," the password. I say,
"You betcha," then he says "I'll breaka
you face!" He thought I called him a bitch.
(Note: Request more consideration in the
selection of code word sequences.)
During a short walk, Rob Roskopp is
once again the victim of Gypsies. As he
walks, a Gypsy woman holding a child
and a newspaper manipulates his waist-
pouch and nearly makes off with his
wallet. He had been warned by a lady
visiting from the U.S. The Gypsies flee, the
Gonz follows, on board, in hot pursuit. A
later report states that 'the Gonz' has
taken care of business, but no details are
offered.
Concluding this portion of the report on
OPERATION: BROKEN WING, no positive
contact has been made. Please advise on
next step. Await your reply.
CODE NAME: JULIO
Hoth closes the report and shuffles
through the photographs once again, trying
to make an assessment of the situation.
NEXT MONTH: While lies fly through the
air over the whole Iran/Contra shake-up,
our man, code-named Julio, prepares for
his biggest challenge. Follow him and his
suspects through Rome, Milan, Firenze,
Venice, Vienna, then Amsterdam, where
he will meet up with the notorious
Dutchman.
