receives a skateboard-shaped plaque
crafted by Schmitt Stix, a check and a hand-
shake from Frank Hawk. Soon skate-types
begin to feed stickers, t-shirts, magazines
and other promotional gifts to the hungry
spectators. Many pros and non-pros alike
are witnessed giving autographs to kids
throughout the arena.
The N.S.A should be commended for a
fine job in organizing the events in Toronto.
Hardly a complaint was heard during my
visit to the arena. It was a truly successful
event.
7:09 p.m. The majority of the skaters
prepare themselves, pack into rental
vehicles and make their way to the airport.
Both new and old friends bid each other
good-bye and go their separate ways, know-
ing that their skates would cross paths
again. As for me, well, ah..."Yo, taxi!"
