The curtain falls
The curtain falls
on the coldest of seasons.
We wait to see what
act four will bring.
The new dawn disperses, cleverly
revealing everything under the sun.
How the grass is greener,
the flowers stand taller,
proud in their majestic pose.
The school bell's last ring-

and widens the eyes of the child.
A kid pulls the string,
takes his chances
not caring where he is.
Breaking locked doors
with a need to be
where he's never been before.
What's under the rock?
On the other side of the fence?
Under the sun,
chasing life's phantoms.
Under the sun,
in search of misdirection.
Everything under the sun;
where the young mind runs
rampant and wild.
Then the curtain will fall
on the warmest of seasons.
We'll wait to see
what the next play will bring.
