that's conceit and you know it would
happen. If you 'sad ramp jokers"
have such a woody about being in
THRASHER, and if you're as good
as you're harping contends, why
don't you send in some shots for
Photograffiti instead of crying like
babies without bottles. Otherwise,
just shut up and skate for fun, not
recognition. Oh, and one other thing.
You say you "know of Gator, Gon-
zales, Hosoi, etc..." Okay, tell ya
what, I'll meet you three clowns at
Upland for the next pro comp. Be
sure and wear shirts with your
pretentious little names on 'em and
stand in good light, 'cuz when Christ
launches a good eight-footer over
your heads I want to be sure and
capture you boneheads melting on
film. Bozos indeed.

PETE PANNED
This is in reply to Pete Pan's "The
Third Strike." This is a guy who says
people should be out skating and not
writing or talking about it. He says
he's been skating and surfing since
'63 and he has this attitude of new
skaters being poseurs. This guy
says it doesn't matter as long as you
skate but puts down people who
can't afford a 10x30 $46 deck. He
says the third death is here 'cause
town Recreation Depts. are building
ramps. Is this wrong? These ramps
are built for skaters to have fun! Hey,
wake up, get your stuck-up head out
of your ass and listen to your own ad-
vice. We've been skating since we
could walk, so don't tell us about cat-
ching shit from our peers.

CALL TO WOMEN SKATERS
I was so surprised when I read
your April '86 issue. The article by
Bonnie Blouin was great! I hope all
the guys that get your mag not only
read it but tried to understand what
she was saying. It really is nice to
skate with another girl once in
awhile.
One thing she wanted was a
female skate club. So do a lot of
others. In January we came up with
the idea of sponsoring a team. The
idea eventually changed to a club
and just about the time the article
came out, I started bugging people
at Del Mar to put me in touch with
other girls that skate. At this point we
have about 30 skaters, mostly from
Cal., but other states as well. This is
not just a correspondence club. We
want to know where you are so we
can put you in touch with other girls
that skate.
The Women's Skateboarding
Club is a non-profit organization. No
one is going to be making bucks
here, because anything we get will
be going into club activities. If you

out, artists, printers, silkscreeners,

First of all, the article on Glenn
Danzig in the June issue was
superb, congrats to Pushead.
Secondly, the Third Strike article
was crap. No one wants to hear Pete
Pan spout out B.S. on the third death
of skating. Anyone that likes skating
will skate regardless of this third
death shit and that is all that matters.
I'm sure Pete Pan waits hand and
foot on those little 'soft-bellies' who
come in his shop, because he is
making his bucks off skating just like
the people he is pointing his finger
at.

MAKE THE SCENE
Not too long ago was the
Keromeos skate bar-b-que weekend
extravaganza. Seventeen skaters
showed up at the high school to
blaze the street' ramps. Sure it
could have been a contest, but no
one here needs a win to ensure con-
tinued sales of their signature
model. No one here even has a
signature model. Hey, you know
there had to be some of us around.
We just skated and ate.
Highlights included; Niki and
Christi trying drop-ins on the quarter
pipe-Christi pulled one off; two
broken kingpins; skaters having fun;
Robin's encore poetry recital; a
skaters vs. soccer players soccer
game. Skaters prevailed 3-2. Oh
yeah, there was also an Oreo toss
(similar to sticker/board type). No
deaths were reported. Some thrash-
ed Oreos needed to be swept from
the skate area. Good thing this
wasn't an NSA sponsored event or
we would have gotten tremendous
heck. Thanks to John King and
Keromeos buds for a fun day. One
last thing, all you skaters with lame
scenes: Ha! you are lame, 'cause
you are your scene.
