NOTES
Dave Vanian of the Damned in San Diego.
Revenge, the new album by
T.S.O.L., should be hitting the
shelves on or around May 15th. It's
on Enigma Capitol and is produced
by Howard Benson. All the old
TS.O.L. power/anger/grittiness is
there, but since the production is so
clean, you probably be hearing it
on all the AM radio stations. Don't
be suprised if, by this summer, our
boys are signed to a major label

School Girls This flick will probably
make Linda Blair's classic Born In-
nocent look like Romper Room re-

and quite possibly record. On the
other hand. The Damned played a
couple U.S. dates. For encores they
played The Doors' "LA, Woman" and
Iggy's "Lust for Life. They're off to
Australia for a bunch more shows.
and when they return to their horne
they wind up plans with a surprise
for the skateboard industry, designed
by Dave Vanian himself, Rat
Scables still wonders why he's been
getting THRASHER in his mailbox
every month. Wasn't that Fo who
gave him the custom black THRASH-
ER sweatshirt off his own back?...
The Dickies have been playin' around
again. Guitarist Stan Lee was last
seen sporting a (gaspl) beard...
Grandmaster Flash and Co. were
out on the West coast playing a series
of shows with The Vandals and Fish-
bone. All the Flash dudes were stylin
with sweat pants, nipple exposing
t-shirts and clear plastic shower caps
over their 'do's. The second day into
their tour they were horrified to see
members of The Vandals wearing
the same get-up, complete with afro-
picks. But, by the end of the tour, the
Grandmaster and his crew all had
on Vandals 1-shirts and were consult
ing Fishbone on mohawk and hair-
styling hints... The Afflicted's album
is due out any second now on Preg-
nant Records. Mike Voss, ex-singer
for Los Olvidados, The Stiffs, and
a guitarist in some mysterious band,
now plays guitar in this band... Speak-
ing of mysterious, why was it that
when you least expected it, the night-
mare comes back? Yes, Duane
Peters graced the Ramp-Aid" ben-
efit concert with his presence by join-
ing virtually every band on stage. The
show featured House of Wheels (a)
Paul Casteel project). The Boneless
Ones, Drunk Injuns and Verbal
Abuse. The event was immortalized
on video as well as on film. The video
by the Video Commander himself,
and film by cinematographor extraor
dinaire John Malvino, who exhibited
clips of his untinished skate docu-
drama featuring some of the best
skate footage ever captured. He'll
be showing more in the Bay area the
first few nights in May, Johnny
Thunder's passed through some
Calif. cities lately. He's still got bad
habits...Touch Me Hooker (another

For those of you who don't remem
ber him, he's the voice behind the in-
lamous Sleepers and the Toiling
Midgets Curious note on his set; it
consisted of one song which lasted
about ten minutes. He was even play
ing guitar. Comment from Klaus
Flouride: "I missed it. I was told that
Johnny Thunders at Fenders, Long Beach.
he played a note never heard before."
The Sea Hags, a tight 3-piece
raunch outfit, has been irritating the
ear-drums with their savage ka-
bwangings Phone the neighbors
and wake the dogs! The Heathens
are back in town. One of Philly's
oldest bands in the punk/new wave
has scene returned, playing on a bill
with Ruin, proving that they are as
eclectically quirky as over with their
punk/funk blend of music... Band to
watch: E.PT playing an energetic
metallic-rock-punk that deserves at-

in the face of cronies such as Live

neapolis' Soul Asylum have finally
put out an album-a rocking, rollick-

out of the shadow of Husker Du and
sets them firmly on their own... New
