THE MEAT
The sun's rays fall to the
ground not unlike so many
thoughts and memories
conjured up in the minds of
this world's children. Like
beacons, the rays touch
upon certain souls, reveal-
ing that there are things
being done and appreciated.
In other and the same parts
of this world are people who
see these wonderful things
and imitate them, while-
still appreciating them in all
their splendor. The reality is
these second-hand activists
mimic rather than initiate.
No interpretation or tap into
the soul. As the great Mexi
can warrior, Emiliano Zapata
said after his victory at the
battle of El Diablo Norte:
"History has proven, time
after time and time again,
that the true leaders are not
made, they are born."
A picture of control. Tony Problems

"How does this figure?"
one might ask. Well, one
shouldn't engage their brain
to any great lengths to figure
out what Zapata was trying
to say that bright sunshiney
Mexican day. For the people
who will forever have to
have things explained to
them, it most certainly
means: in society. (no matter
what the activity) there will
be people who go through
the motions (some better
than others) and then there
are the BORN-NATURALS.

Witness Jesse Martinez as he thrusts what resembles a high backside
carve on a totally vertical surface about four feet above ground zero.
Why has this style originated from this area? Notice the wheel contact on
the wall and the ground in the third to the last frame. The 90 transition
barrier has been broken

The born-naturals are
easily recognized when
they are deeply involved in
their craft. Out of a group of
people, doing any one thing.
the born-naturals are the
only ones who do it with any
style. Take, for instance, a
pizza maker. When you buy
a pizza you either say. "Hey,
this is a great pizza, give me
another slice." or, you might
say, "Eww, this pizza is
watery, and the crust is like
clay, give me another slice."
and you eat it anyway. Just
as long as the thing is edi-
ble, right?
The born-natural pizza
maker knows exactly how
much this-or-that to throw
in for just the right flavor,
how to place the garnish
and just when to pull it out
of the fire for that little extra
"oomph!" The other guy
just says, "whatever..." and
goes through the motions
to crank out another pizza.
no attention to details, just
the quickest way through
the routine.
OK, now take skateboard-
ing as an example. The
activity exists. Types pick
up a board and ride about
stiffly, some stiffly better
than others, some excep
tionally stiffly better than
others. They do the latest
maneuvers, but just aren't
very exciting to watch.
A lack of style.
