Stacy Peralta defineates a spark of his creativity
Plagued with relentless attack, Christian Hosol snaps off the coping with a final
victory at the Skataranch
Two weeks after the N.S.A. finals, the
Del Mar Skateranch closed its doors.)
It's been rumoured that there appeared
a problem with the liability insurance,
or the owners have decided to pull out
of skating and pursue a more profitable
area of real estate developement.
Nobody knows for sure. It's very likely
that the following event may have been
the Skateranch's fast.

around
The following sequences occurred
in a somewhat cronological order.
Read on to the rap.
1. Creator Chantry rents the car, reclaims
us at the flying bar-Raymond Meyer,
Livmo' Joe and I. San Diego, 10:00a.m.,
attempt to reach desired end, the shuttle
bus won't make it to the car. I wonder if
we're gonna get too far.
2. We hit the Ranch a little late, the ams
are down to their last eight but Roving
Wanda's police state tries to keep us all
behind the gate We're here to see the
skaters fly but Wanda's gang is here to spy
out chaos with a watchful eye.
3.O'Brien, Spidey, Simpson, Black,
Rankine and Demain are back to tako
a crack at first prize for the ams. Grosso
Japan's Mugu Toyodah inverting on foriegn soil.
and Nash are in there too, for them it's
eithor 'me or you. Nothing's going to make
these skaters slack. Gregor Rankine
takes it high, above the coping, to the sky
but bails enough to keep him off the top.
O'Brien shakes his bag of tricks; assorted
Tony Magnusson soaring high in the southern sky
and amazing mix. Spidey can't get started
til he stops. Adrian Demain's the name,
basking in his local fame, he takes his air
above the norm. Grosso drops in and
tears it like a storm: sadplants, leins and
six foot airs, top form. Nash stays cool,
attacks the pool with Andrechts, 50-50's
and high leins. Today we see it's Eric Nash
who reigns.
4. Mr. Frank displays his rank: the Prez
gives out the trophies and the thanks.
5. The time won't last, our meal is fast, it
leaves me fooling sick and gassed.
6. The skatepark scene (without fail) soon
became extremely stale. I tell myself that
I'm no fool, Dave Duncan brings us to
a pool.
7. Escondido's far away, the drive erodes
our fading day but lifts us to the summit
of the world. The pool is tight, but it's
alright, Gator tears it with a style unfurled.
8. On our way down we find a ditch with
curbs and banks and planks; on which we
spend another hour of our time. It enter
tains but doesn't cost a dime.
9. The Ranch again to watch the pros
warm up and get back on their toes. Gator
slams his ankle on a run: no more contest
for him, not much fun.
10. Watchin' Neil gettin' real, showing
some inspired zeal. He's got the feel for
Neil moves, skating in between the
grooves. Wooly Mammoth, The Hand-out
too, doing what he wants to do. He won't
win, but it's no sin. Blows my mind just
practicin
11. Saturday the twenty-fourth. Creator
says, for what it's worth, that he's on
banner duty for the day. Freestyle time,
the crowd's all here. "What's a jam without
a beer?", the locals in the bleachers seem.
to say. "At 8:00 am, there is no other way."
12. Stale time between the heats, right
next door the golfing feats performed by
Livmo' Joe are really fine. The driving
range is new for me and Livmo's here to
help me see that golfing's just another
waste of time. But time is just another
thing to rhyme.
13. While on the road I never eat, anything
you'd call a treat, the same prevails this
