YOU HAVE TO ASK YOURSELF
I've got a problem. See, we have this kil
ler ramp around the block from my house.
The guy's mother is going to have the ramp
torn down Bum Deal. So my friend and I
went to find another ramp. In our search.
we found an empty pool next to a burnt
down house with a knocked down fence
We started to shred the pool when a cop
kicked us out. We were pissed. Is skating
by that burnt down house still trespassing?
Do you think we should go back and shred
some more?

Well, I'll tell ya. I hate to say this but,
yes, you are trespassing. If a piece of
property has a house that burned and a
killer empty pool in back, chances are
it's still a privately owned property and
trespassing is obvious. Now, whether
or not you get caught is the bottom line
and can determine the difference be-
tween a good or bad skate day. Many
times the owners either don't know or
don't care about the skate scene going
on in their once happy back yard: usu-
ally not, though. In fact in your case,
you're probably lucky the cops caught
you first and not the owners. Also
seems like you can guage how good a
certain pool is by how much of a bust it
is. I mean, you never see a bunk pool
you can't skate. If the pool sucks there's
no one in sight, if the pool totally rips or
is even semi-fun, you can't get within a
block without neighbors calling cops.
As far as going back again after you've
already had a confrontation with law en-
forcement officers you have to ask
yourself, was it a good pool or was it
kinky? If the pool is worthy then maybe
it deserves another assault. Just take
the cops/owners into consideration and
plan for it. Like, park down the street
and always have someone watching
while the other guy skates. Anyway, this
is something you'll have to decide for
yourself, so think before you skate.

have always respected Mr. John Smythe.
What ever happened to him? Did he get
sucked into the Twilight Zone, or what?

Actually he's still alive and kicking. I
think. You've got it wrong, though, John
Smythe being one of many
psuedonyms taken on by the person in
question who if you don't know him you
have no business knowing him. In fact,
he orginally came from the Twilight
Zone and has taken on a presence
hither unknown to the people in this
area. And that's where that's at.

HELP BAKE THE BREAD, HELP EAT
THE BREAD
I have a problem and I'm wondering if
you have a solution. See, me and my friend
Ty helped this guy named Glen build a half-
pipe. At the time when we were helping him
build it he was acting o.k. Now that it's built,
though, it's a different story. When we want
to ride it we'll go over to his house and
sometimes he hides when he hears us
coming like he doesn't want us to ride it.
Well we don't go over there every day, but
when we do he gives us bad looks, like,
"Oh, here they come." Sometimes we just
leave because we can see that he doesn't
want us there. It's like we help build it and
afterwards all we get is bad looks. What
should we do?

Your friend is definitely not cool. If
you helped build the ramp, then by all
means you should have every right to
skate it. Try calling first. Then if the
dude still acts like some underground
rodent just go skate the ramp anyway. If
you don't want to push the matter your-
self or even hassle with the guy, then
perhaps you should build or find
another ramp, quite possibly a better
one, elsewhere. Who knows? Maybe
he'll mellow out after he reads this.
