The Madrid "Explosion" is a board
30% long by 10% wide with a flat
deck. Concave, Schmongcave, this
deck works well, being not too

again submitted a newly designed
model. It sports a 30 % x 10 %s deck
with black gloss paint job with pic-
tures of a skateboard, comb, surf-
board and, of course, a signature to
properly prepare any skater for the
glamour lane. With a medium trian-
gular concave and semi-steep tail,
positive foot placement is assured.
Overall a well-finished functional de-
sign and a real spiffy and hep new
addition to the style (board) con-
scious skater.

NORCON KNEEPAD
Norcon has introduced its latest line-
up of protective gear. With the aerials
of 5 feet and beyond being common
practice, the need for pads is critical
The Norcon pads feature lightweight
high density closed cell foam padding
with flanged construction on the upper
pad for freedom of movement.
Another interesting feature is the use
of lycra spandex to secure the knee
pads on your legs. The material is very
comfortable and ventilates well with
binding. The kneecap is sewn on with
nylon thread and is of the hard shell
plastic, slide-o-rama variety. Made of
nylon material with elastic velcro bind-
ings the Norcon kneepad is a comfort
able set of pads that can help you to
keep skating and stop swelling

Obviously, after a long session of
half-piping, free-styling or speed
runs you get sewaty. I mean real
sweaty. The Amway company tells
skaters to hold off on the shower and
fill up that tub. Just when you
thought the days of Mr. Bubble were
over, enters Easy Glider Skateboard
Soap. The label tells you to "Imagine
yourself as a downhill slalom racer,
while you watch dirt and grime glide
down the drain." The skate-cleans-
ing folks at Amway also suggest that
you "Dream of perfecting your
sidewalk-surfing skills each time
Easy Glider 'pops' a nose wheelie,
by the time your soap is gone, you'll
be ready for the real thing, from
'180's to 'hanging ten'."
When the box is opened it ap
pears to contain a Jr. version of a
dinner-in-the-box but actually con-
tains a hunk of soap and a plastic
frame with fake trucks and wheels
on which to mount the deck. It looks
like this is a product kids could liter-
ally have minutes of fun using. I
won't be calling Paul Harvey to
place my order just yet though. I'm
gonna wait for the soap half-pipe
with real masonite layers to get the
dirt off before it ruins the Easy
Glider. Honest.
