No Hand 50/50 From The Rail
Here's a basic rail trick that only
takes practice to wire.
Step 1: Starting from the rail, drop
your front (in this case my left) foot
down behind the deck as close to the
ground, without touching, as possible.
This is important as it allows for a bet-
ter scooping action.
Step 2: Unweight and hook into a
50/50 with your back foot (my right) on
the truck.

Step 3: Because of this scooping
action with the front foot, the board will
swing out in front of you. Notice that
I'm pivoting on the nose of the board
for better leverage.
Step 4: Swing the board back into
your body by raising the front foot
slightly. Keep your weight centered
over the pivot point, the nose.
Step 5: Push down on the truck with
your back foot and follow through with
the front foot to land on the rail. Don't
try to throw the board up and over, just
kind of step it down to the rail and let it
fall into place.
