REAL SKATE VIKINGS
First of all, I want to thank you for doing
a REAL GOOD JOB for the GLOBAL
SKATEWORLD.
Since today, I have been allowed to
THRASH up our "Strawberry Hill" from my
dad, I want to have some tips about ramp
building. I'm gonna put up a ramp soon.
And as you have written an article in your
mag (it was August issue, I think) about
ramp building, I thought it would be smart
to order that individual back issue of
THRASHER.
In Norway now, we're doing skate
sessions in garages and other snow-free
places. But we go for sno-boarding most of
this time of year. Anyway, I look forward to
the skate season, although skating is
unlegal in Norway (INSANE).
But that crazy law which has forbidden
skateboarding shall be taken away in
February or March (maybe). I've already
sent a sealed letter to our prime minister
Kaare Willoch and "THRASHED" him a bit.
That was all I want to say for this time.
Knut Anders Farstad
NORWAY
P.S. I nearly forgot, remember that WE
ARE THE REAL VIKINGS, it's not true that
Sweden is the "country of the Vikings" as
written in "SOMETHIN ELSE (December
issue, page 47). They (the Swedes) are
just a BAD COPY!!! Remember that.
CURE FOR COMMON COLD
Because of the winter snow, skating
around us has been truly beat. It's been
cold and there are gnarly pebbles spread
all over the street. So we have come up
with a solution we would like printed in this
unreal magazine. It's simply called "Ice
Boarding. It's unreal because you can do
massive power slides and competition
bunny-hopping, on a regular skateboard.
All you need is a frozen pond and your
skateboard.

A VOICE FROM THE EAST
This is a voice from back east saying
that skating is still alive over here. There's
not a lot of us hardcore skaters left around.
We have a team called "The Source"
skateboard team. There's not a lot of skate
terrain around but we manage to have a
few ramps, a pool at HoJo's (Howard
Johnson's) and "The Wall." It's a wall 60 ft.
across, 8 ft. high, 3 ft. of transition, 5 ft. of
vertical, and on the other side is a 40 ft.
drop straight down to a river, this makes
rock-n-rolls a hairy trick.
The team (me, Jon, Kenny, Brian F.,
Rob and Troll) skate the streets every
chance we got. The cops don't bother us
'cause they got tired of chasing us.
You guys at THRASHER really got it
together to put out a true skating mag.
