PRO-TEC FIREFLY
Many skaters (especially you ver-
ticalists) are probably already familiar with
Pro-Tec's line of full coverage-active
sports headgear. With the introduction of
the new Firefly cycle touring helmet, a
design that is already popular with skaters,
Pro-Tec answers the question of safe
skating at night. The Firefly is made from a
non-radioactive material that glows in the
dark when exposed briefly to any light
source. Like the other Pro-Tec brain
buckets, the Firefly is designed to fit the
skull properly and reduces the risk of head
and neck injury by eliminating helmet
rotation. A super-light new air liner, which
is interchangeable, provides comfort and
ventilation for those sweltering summer
skate sessions. The strong pearlescent
shell is warrantied for life against cracking

SLICKER SNOWBOARD DECKS
Any hardcore skaters out there who are
seeing the first snowfall of winter, and just
can't be content with freestyling in base-
ments and garages for three months, may
want to check out the new Slicker Snow
Deck. The concave, channeled deck
utilizes seven laminations of maple
veneers between fiber core skins and
bonded together with waterproof epoxy.
Slicker uses stainless steel mounting
Firefly
hardware and twin fin system along with a
dual urethane binding set-up. Provided
that you've got the snow and a steep hill, or
at least a snowmobile for towing, you'll be
able to continue shredding skate-like
laybacks, sweepers and aerials during
winter time white-outs. 3M deck tape
included and available in three sizes, 50",
