            NETHERLANDS
Just like in most countries, skating is
alive and well in the Netherlands. Some
good ramps, contests and demos or-
ganized by skaters, our own Little Vertical
Magazine, and the nationals we had in
August are proof of the energy down here!
This photo was taken at the Bickereiland
indoor ramp, now taken apart, but we'll find
a new indoor spot this winter for sure. In
the meanwhile, we skate a new city built
ramp in one of Amsterdam's suburbs and
various other ramps spread out all over the
country

SWEDEN
Hey, here's some stuff from Linkoping
Skate Dominate Sweden. These pictures
are from the tennis capital in Sweden,
Bastad. We made a show there at the
same time as the Swedish Grand Prix in
tennis. The show took place at the centre
court in the evening of the same day as the
finals, July 18th. About 1000 spectators
had come to enjoy the great occasion to
see how "hot" skateboarding is as a sport
The crowd really liked it and it was a fine
opportunity to promote the sport. The guys
in L.S.D. team are: Patrick Backlund,
Martin Bjorck, and Torbjorn Andersson.

ITALY
I want to let you know that even here in
Italy skateboarding is alive! There is an
indoor roller rink near Torino (it always
plays horrible stupid music) that is run by a
skater and has a bowl and some hot
ramps. We in Geneva have a good
halfpipe (the one in the photos) where we
skate and thrash daily. Unfortunately, 80%
of the skaters in Italy are into slalom only
and you see that there are not too many
skaters at all. Your result is a very few ones
into vertical freestyle and street.
We plan to organize some demos or a
little contest with some friends on ramp
and freestyle to have fun, promote the
sport, and above all to show everybody
that skating is not a little kid's game. A big
problem is also that no shops here import
stuff so we have to buy them by post from
England, Holland, or the U.S.
Please print this letter and some photos
in the "Photograffiti" section, that is one of
the best pages of your ultra-rad magazine.

FRANCE
I just wanted to write and say that you're
a very hot mag. I'm a French skater, I'm
twenty. My name is François Sejourné but
all my friends call me Francis Zebron (it's a
French joke). I want to subscribe to you
because we can't find you in Paris.
I have with some friends a new magazine
about skate. His name Paris Skate News;
it is an information mag about the
skateboard world. I'm going to through you
the last number of P.S.N. In France, I'm in
an original gang of skaters: the Mazo Rats
Skaters Commando only for the skatepark.
For freestyle, slalom and high jump I'm in
teh Starboard Team of Paris.
I'm also the bassist leader of Canal
Sound, the French skater punks group. A
friend of mine (the singer) is actually create
a new marque of freestyle skateboards:
Aldebaran Skates. 3 boards for freestyle:
Dematos, 68 x 16cm; Senizergue, 68 x 17
cm; Michel, 67 x 16.5 cm. They are very
hot and very competitive.
This summer, a friend of me, Emmanuel
Bensimon is building a very hot ramp is his
garden because lots of parks are closed or
broken. We practice also street skating in
the streets of Paris, but all the old people
said about us that we are "young, crazy
boys with our roller boards. And when we
want to skate very radical, we must go in
England in London. Arrow Park and Rom
Park are very vertical and hot. In France,
the level is not very very good but we have
a good repertoire of skating! Hand plant,
foot plant, caballerial, ollies grinders, miller
flip.
In freestyle skating we have a profes-
sional freestyler, he is in my team and won
all the contests. He won also the slalom
contest in Scotland 6 months ago. His
name is Pierre André Senizergue.
Well, it's time to eat now. I was very
happy to speak with you. I wait now for
your letter. I'm so sorry for my bad
American language but don't be afraid, I'm
going to take a stage to learn. can you put
a little article about this letter in T.M.? If you
can
