"I think everyone's cleaning up their act, dressing nice and the scene is
happening, It's picking back up.
"I make more money on my own than I do in a contest. I can make $150 or so in
three hours skating with my girlfriend.
"When you're skating for a crowd, you work it and use its energy. You spot the
loud people and go skate by them, and the crowd's energy begins to flow.
"My girlfriend and I are going in a separate direction from contests. We're
working as a duet and we're going to try to make it big out on the streets."
Deep in the heartland just outside of
Kansas City, there exists this giant super
regional shopping mall called Oak Park or
something the same. 100 plus acres of
high-tech concrete sublimination. Vid
games, polyester, french fries, and
vacuformed culture are its principle
attractions; however, there is one major
drawback. Apparently, the urban planners
by mistake have created THE PERFECT
SURFACE. It's causing a massive
problem for security 'cause these
skatesorts crave to carve. Everyday the
trio (we'll call them Huey, Dewey and Louie
here to protect their ID's) infiltrates the
sacred corridors of concrete commerce
and works out their streetstyle routines.
Everyday rain, snow, sleet et al. The
security patrol kicks Huey, Dewey and
Louie out. At last report the security men
were learning to forget. See ya tomorrow,
boys, same time, same place.
He grabs her, pins her arms forcing and

With the inate adaptability of a born street
skater she sees only one way out. So she

pushing them further and making them modern.
"One reason freestyle has never been so popular is that in magazine photos the
bowlriding is easier to understand. You can look at a single airborne bowl picture
and you instantly comprehend what he's doing. But with freestyle, the tricks
are so fast and intricate you often need a sequence to see what's going on."
