As always, the skate dogs remain
radical. Our very own terrorists Mofo,
Carlos, and KT-ed, were ambushed
outside S.F.'s Earls Nitery where upon
they proceeded to cut down to size three
drunken and obnoxious long hairs. Also in
S.F. on recent nites was Steve Olson

In case any of you youth out there
haven't noticed yet, the world is on the
dge of disaster. The elders obviously
don't give a s--t about the future because
they don't have any. But YOU ARE THE
FUTURE, and if you don't start making
noises about it, you will have NO FUTURE.
A large percentage of the eligible voters in
this country don't vote. This leaves the
moral majority paranoids to make weapons
(to defend?) for our own good. This leads
other countries to counter our measures,
(and we all know what that leads to).
Urge your parents to vote, and urge
them to vote for measures that lead away
from world disaster. It's not un-cool.
Remember: "How cool can you be if you're
dead?" Fight war not wars, the future can
be in your hands or on your heads.
D.K.'s on major U.S. tour, look for them
in your area. Jello tells us that a new
album is on the way. Also with new vinyl
out now, Black Flag, with TV party
single.
The Big Boys made another trip up to
S.F. with Fritz Coy, aka T.A. in tow. Hot
gigs at Tool & Die (with Butthole Surfers,
F-Ups, MDC Stains, and Dead Kennedys'
guest appearance) and at Rainbow Skates
famous S.F. skate gathering spot. Spotted
on the spot were The Doctor R.B., T.A.,
Fausto, Eric, KT-ED, Brian Ware,
Lamar, Cooksie, Fish, and a host of
locals, street people, no fags and folk.
Luckless Mofo, being the gracious host
that he is, and T.A. had yet another
scrape with bouncers and the law at the
Angelic Upstarts gig at the O.B., setting a
new record of 2 minutes from entry into
the club to ejection.
Spike, hardcore F.U. broad, is known
to throw a mean right hook. Locals advise,
treat with caution and respect.
Old news is bad news...Hardcore skater
and staffer for the Midland (Texas)
Reporter-Telegram Cody Bell sends us a
clipping from the Killeen Daily Herald
dated August 30, 1981... "Police reported
three young men were in jail facing
misdemeanor criminal trespass charges
after being taken into custody Saturday
afternoon at Lone Star Skate Park in
Killeen. Police said the men are all in the
early 20s and are all from Rankin, Corpus
Christy and Midland. One of the men, a
police spokesman said, is a pre-law
student at Southwest Texas State
University. The spokesman said the three
men drove to Killeen to practice
skateboarding in the park, which has just
been closed....Just a reminder to all of
you would-be skate terrorists, as skate-
boarding becomes more visible, so does
the Heat....

that sort of authority." R.B. Blackhart

DROP HOP
As described by Stacy Peralta
Part 1
Hold the board at one end, not in the
middle. Drop the board so that one end
hits before the other (the opposite end
that you are holding). Let the board
bounce, don't put your foot under it until it
bounces. Put your right foot on first (goofy
footers reverse it). Then put your left foot
under before it bounces twice and flip it
over. Put down one foot after the other,
not both at the same time.
Part 2
In flipping the board over, the board
should flip straight over like an arc. It
should not twist. Your body stays in the
same place.
During the flip you should push the
nose over with your left foot and, very
importantly, you should thrust the tail
through with your right foot. Don't let the
left foot touch the ground. You also have
to help a little during the flip.
The man of few words but many moves
says "the best way to learn this is to just
look and study the sequence shots and
figure it out. This is a basic trick, simple to
learn."
He learned this trick during a heated
session when he got upset and threw his
board on the ground. The board hit the
ground and bounced, so he just took it
from there.
