ITEM: SIMS STREET CONCAVE/TRACKER EX-
TRACKS/SIMS SNAKE WHEELS
Is this the modern world or what?!! When traveling
between video sessions, the new Street Concave from
SIMS has the correct characteristics necessary for
completing such missions. With a 9 x 30 M.O., wheel
wells and three color graphics (sending asteroids or
something), this deck seems excellently proportioned for
its intended street use. This "Video Deck" comes in
handy when you have to meet the gang at the local
Video Parlor, especially when you're out rollin' around on
SIMS Snake Wheels and the EXTRACKS from
TRACKER.
These lime green Snake Wheels are great for the
streets. Slightly larger than the norm for street use, these
wheels, durometered at 92, are very fast and agile on
those sharp turns. Now to make those turns happen for
this set-up, we have featured here EXTRACKS from
TRACKER. EXTRACKS' 5" width (measured between
the wheels) and 13.2 oz. weight offer a sturdy overall
combination in modern street equipment.
ITEM: POWELL/PERALTA MIKE MCGILL MODEL-
THUNDER, CHARGER TRUCKS-BONES MINI CUBICS
Powell/Peralta's line of decks seems to be endless.
This model, the Mike McGill signature, is one of the
fastest moving on the market today. It's thirty inches.
long, 10% inches wide where you put your front foot. 9
inches wide where you put your back foot, and it's 6
inches from the back truck to the tip of the tail. Speaking
of tail, it bends at a cool 16° while the concavity of the
deck's surface is of the triplane nature, which is mild
enough to allow for a firm foot placement and still has
the turning leverage that is desired. This deck is
lightweight and is constructed of 6 plys of very good
wood.
For rolling purposes and boosters to radical situations,
we have fitted this set-up with Bones Mini-Cubics (a
Powell/Peralta product). These wheels, as stated before,
are an excellent asset to the riders of pools and ramps
with tendencies towards radicalism.
Now for the trucks. Whether on the street or wherever,
the THUNDER "Charger" Trucks hold true to all expec-
tations of turnability and stability. They are comparably
light and they turn on a dime making them one of the
most versatile trucks on the market today.
ITEM: THE JAMMER
For those of you out there who really can't afford the
professional board of your dreams, here is a set-up that
your pocketbook is sure to enjoy. This inexpensive,
preconstructed board is an excellent bargain. The
JAMMER has a highly functional full template deck
(30"x9") with full parallel rails. Its construction consists
of five plys of super-hard Midwestern Birdseye maple
pressed into a classic rocker which runs shallow through
the board into an 11° kick. The exterior finish of this deck
is sealed and painted black with white graphics bringing
the weight of the deck alone to 3.25 pounds.
The JAMMER comes equipped from NHS with 2 piece
3M grip tape covering the entire footing surface, high
grade mounting hardware, riser pads and Hi-functional
INDEPENDENT 131 Stage II's onto which are mounted
Park Rider 4.5 Dual Radius wheels. These wheels are
fast and have good slide and grip characteristics.
The JAMMER is a great beginner's board and serves
well under street conditions as opposed to pool boards.

ITEM: CASTER/INOUYE MODEL-INDEPENDENT
169's
BLACKHART WHEELS
Southern California, once the center of all skate activity,
still has a couple of products up its sleeve. CASTER, a
surfboard/skateboard manufacturer, has a hot one on their
hands. The "Inouye" model (designed and named after
Tom "Wally Inouye, skater extraordinaire) is reportedly
the most indestructible board around. This component
system is compact, lightweight and easy to manage. The
cutaway rails subtract from the weight while giving the
deck a bullet-like appearance.
INDEPENDENT 169's are pretty much the standard in
superwide trucks. The axles measure a lean 9" with the
hanger measuring 2% less, at 6%. Due to excellent
wheel wells, the need for only one CELL BLOCK per truck
was required, lending towards a sharp turning capability
without the encumbrances of wheel bite.
Blackhart Wheels, a pinkish-colored wheel from NHS, is
designed primarily with pools and fast moving in mind. The
centered bearing design accomplishes equal wear across
the rolling surface, while the double radiused edges allow
easy transference over coping and other grinding matters.
