A general guide to the latest in skatedecks
and accessories
ITEM: G&S STREET CRUISER CITY STREET
WHEELS GULLWING 8" TRUCKS
When out taking care of business, looking for an
opportunity to pop up or just cruising with your
"Brothers" it's not a bad idea to take the Pine design
Street Cruiser by G&S along. This light blue concave
sports graphics in the way of a lowered '64 Chevy in
front of a cityscape. The 2-3 degree concave enables
the board to have adept turning abilities along with a
slender streamlined design, allowing for swell foot
placement.
The City Street Wheels are one of the grippiest
street wheels of today. The enormous amounts of
traction reduces the chances of drifting on those tight
turns. Proven excellent in Big City Garage Races
where it is fourteen turns to the finish, these wheels
more often than not come out ahead.
For stable street and ditch riding, the GULLWING 8"
truck keeps up with the best of them. These trucks are
just the right width for this component system.
The addition of G&S rail sliders is a must for
protection of the graphics and board sliding tricks.
ITEM: WALKER MARK LAKE DESIGN INDEPEN-
DENT 169s BLACKHART WHEELS
This compact new model from Walker Skateboards
is part of a whole gang of new signature boards from
the Florida-based company. The Lake Pro Design
features a flat deck that measures only 29"x10" but
has enough meat on it to handle the heaviest of
vertical abuse. This board also boasts routed rail wells
for board grabbing aerials. Further enhancing the
appearance of this vertical tool is the high gloss black
paint job and bright, lime-green and yellow graphics.
Blackhart wheels and Independent 169s have been
used together as components since their inception a
few years back. The Blackhart wheel is a center
bearing wheel that slides on command speed is the
name of their game.
The Independent 169 has long been a mainstay in
many vertical arenas and the tight turning radius and
adjustability of these trucks make them a good match
for the Lake Model. If you want a sharp looking
vertical skate that is not too bulky yet will handle any
skate terrain that may come up, grab this one.

ITEM: VARIFLEX SINGER FREESTYLE TRACKER
FULTRACK MAG VARIFLEX FREESTYLE WHEELS
Once again Variflex has released a finely crafted
product with this Singer freestyle deck. The shape of
this board is different than your average freestyler in
that the nose and kicktail sections are squared off more
while the middle of the board bulges out to a maximum
7%". The overall size of the board (72" at the wheels
x 28" long) makes it suitable for overall street cruisin'
as well as the snappiest freestyle tricks. The 6-ply
Maple deck construction is strengthened with 3 layers
of fibrous epoxy laminate (top, bottom and middle
layer), and fingerflip cutaways in addition to full wheel
wells make for one trick skate.
Tracker Magnesium Fulltracks are perfectly suited
to this deck. Full Mags perfectly matched the fuller
width of this deck. The Tracker Mags are extremely
lightweight, a feature that makes them an excellent
choice for freestyle.
Lightweight is also the word for the Variflex freestyle
wheels shown here. The Zytel ST inner core is very
strong and drilled out for even more weight savings. A
low-profile skin of hard, high-rebound urethane covers
the hub making for a very racy look.
ITEM: POWELL/PERALTA RODRIQUEZ MODEL
TRACKER SIXTRACKS BONES CUBIC III's
The Ray Bones Rodriquez model from POWELL/
PERALTA, has always been a popular board and is
one of the longest running signature decks on the
market today. The unusual shape of this board
features a snub nose and a shorter length (28%2x10"
wide). But the full width and the full wheel base,
dictate that this is a full-on pool and vertical machine.
The flat deck is constructed of 7-ply maple and
features a slightly longer tail (6") than most boards.
Finally, the full wheel wells accent this whole deck.
The Bones Cubic III's, another POWELL/PERALTA
product, are an excellent wheel for ramps and pools.
Fairly lightweight, the Bones Cubic III's highly compli-
ment the Rodriquez board, especially when combined
with TRACKER SIXTRACKS, Copers and Lapper.
This full-on combo makes for stable, smooth skating.
The TRACKER SIXTRACKS are a wide and stable
truck, with the ultimate in grinding surface. TRACKER
recommends for truck lastability, the addition of the
TRACKER Copers. They are easier to grind with, also
they give the hangers a lower profile.
